What is mesotherapy and how is it performed?
With this technique, we use the finest needles to place materials in the middle layer of the skin that cause tightening and toning. It's worth noting that the micro-punctures created by the needles activate fibroblasts and produce collagen, while skin renewal is also achieved with a variety of approved injectable materials such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, nucleotides, etc. Additionally, there are specialized "cocktails" for cellulite mesotherapy. In all cases, a series of sessions is required for the maximum result.
What is the mesotherapy gun used at Totalskin?
In our clinic, we have chosen to use a specialized mesotherapy gun, designed by the person who discovered mesotherapy, Dr. Michael Pistor. This gun makes the procedure completely painless, controls the injection depth to the millimeter level, avoids bruises and swelling, conserves material with the use of microdoses, allows the application to many more points, and significantly increases the effectiveness of the session.
In which areas and when can mesotherapy be applied?
Mesotherapy can essentially be applied to any part of the face or body where there are fine wrinkles. In the vast majority of cases, we apply it to the face, especially for forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, and smoker's wrinkles, as well as on the cheeks, neck, and décolletage. It is an excellent choice as it both prevents and treats these wrinkles and mild sagging while improving skin texture. Sometimes it is used instead of methods like Botox or in conjunction with them for optimal results.
Autologous Mesotherapy
For those inclined towards purely natural treatments without "foreign" chemicals, it should be emphasized that the best results are achieved with autologous mesotherapy, where we use our blood. The platelet-rich plasma it contains provides growth factors, promoting skin regeneration and tightening, while also giving a radiant complexion due to improved vascularization.
Needle-Free Mesotherapy
Finally, there is also the option of needle-free mesotherapy machines where ingredients such as plasma, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins are diffused using iontophoresis and electroporation. This achieves tightening and gives a glow to the skin without any punctures and downtime.
Frequently Asked Questions about Mesotherapy
Are all candidates suitable for mesotherapy?
Essentially yes, although in some cases another treatment option may have better or quicker results. However, everyone can benefit from this method.
Can I go out immediately after mesotherapy?
Immediately after mesotherapy, you will have slight irritation on the skin, so although it is perfectly safe to go out, we would not recommend attending an event, for example, and we would prefer if you did not apply makeup. The next day, you can return to your normal routine. If we choose needle-free mesotherapy with our special machine, you can return to your daily routine or attend an event on the same day.
How often should I undergo mesotherapy?
The number of sessions and their frequency depends on the area the severity of the problem we want to address and the result we want to achieve. In our opinion, at least 3 sessions are required, and in the case of autologous mesotherapy, we recommend spacing them one to one and a half months apart, as it takes 28 days to produce collagen. So, when the second session "lands" on the already activated fibroblasts, we have the maximum result. When using hyaluronic acid, which targets hydration more, the interval between sessions should be shorter, for example, every week or every 15 days.
