ANTI-AGING

The field of anti-aging and aesthetic dermatology has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. There is now greater knowledge and understanding than ever before about what leads to aging, both genetically and environmentally. Our literature provides valuable information, among other things, about nutrition and the influence of the environment, even at a genetic level (DNA). Studying this is essential to guide our patients towards having healthier and more beautiful skin, with minimal signs of aging. It must be understood that we should approach aging as a lifestyle and essentially as a marathon rather than a sprint.

Over the past 20 years, the evolution of anti-aging devices such as lasers, radio frequencies, IPL, phototherapy, ultrasound, and cryolipolysis has been remarkable, both in achieving better and faster results and in ensuring greater safety. Similarly, there has been vertical development in medical technologies such as hyaluronic acid, absorbable threads, biostimulants, and other enzymes that act catalytically on skin homeostasis

. Furthermore, advancements have been made in autologous therapies with the isolation of nano fat, microfat, and stem cells, as well as the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the growth factors they secrete.

However, all of these are just part of a larger equation. Updated, in-depth knowledge alone is not enough, nor is the ability of a clinic to provide all these options and have experience in their application. The physician must be guided by ethical criteria rather than economic ones. The field of anti-aging and aesthetic medicine is one where considerable amounts of money can be spent on treatments not chosen purely on medical criteria, as they do not determine a patient's life, such as the removal of cancer.

For this reason, non-physicians as well as physicians from other unrelated specialties have entered this field. Performing medical procedures by non-physicians is illegal, and it is evident that the reason for this illegality is purely financial. How can such individuals choose and apply the appropriate treatment, have knowledge of all options, and reject a treatment if it is not suitable?

As for physicians from other unrelated specialties, we are referring to doctors who were trained in another field and when they realized that they were not financially rewarded as they hoped, they decided to engage in something they hope will be more profitable. Once again, let us question the criteria for choosing a particular treatment. Is there sufficient education or retraining? Is there a real choice of treatments and experience in the entire range of aesthetic medicine?

Finally, an essential prerequisite for optimal results in aesthetic dermatology and anti-aging treatments, beyond in-depth knowledge, the ability to provide treatments, and ethical guidance, is aesthetics. It requires a love for the subject at the level of a passion for art.

In contrast to other dermatology clinics, in our clinic, we do not exclusively deal with aesthetic dermatology. It is characteristic that with a significant percentage of our aesthetic cases, we first develop a relationship of trust after clinical or surgical treatment of our own or a relative's problem.

We show the same responsibility in the aesthetic aspect, and we believe that real knowledge of dermatology is also crucial there. For example, knowledge of the process of epithelialization and skin remodeling helps us both in the treatment of inflammatory lesions and the removal of skin lesions and their healing, as well as in the targeted and controlled destruction of skin layers with a fractional laser. Knowledge of facial anatomy and the course of vessels is invaluable both in the removal of skin cancers and in the placement of threads, hyaluronic acid, and botulinum toxin at the right point and depth. Of course, as in any medical practice, safety is always paramount. Finally, we must emphasize that our goal is always a completely natural result, without exaggerations, that will highlight a more relaxed and refreshed face.

Since the spectrum of choices is wide, we undertake to inform you up close, primarily focusing on what concerns you. Choices in the field of aesthetic dermatology include liposuction, lipofilling, hyaluronic acid for restoring lost volume and deep wrinkles, the use of botox for the expression of wrinkles, various types of lasers, peels, dermapen, radio frequencies (RF) for wrinkles and acne scars, autologous mesotherapy for firming, scar remodeling, and alopecia treatment. Of course, we always achieve the best results by applying a combination of treatments with a specific sequence according to the patient's problem and their program.

We always make a realistic assessment of what is needed to achieve the goals we set together. Finally, please note that we never undertake a case whose outcome we do not believe will satisfy us as well.
